Lia Fletcher
Hi there! I'm a dance teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching a range of styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap. I am also a certified yoga and Pilates instructor, which has proven to be invaluable when teaching dance technique.
My Story
I am originally from Brazil, and I spent my formative years learning from trailblazing dancers such as Eleonora Oliosi, Damares Antelmo and Lina Penteado. I've performed in various dance productions and have received recognition for my technical ability and artistic expression.

In North America, I had the opportunity to join the Huntsville Ballet Company under the direction of David Herriott and Keren Gibb, where I took a variety of principal and corps roles in the Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and La Bayadere to name a few. Also in North America, I trained with renowned dancers and choreographers such as Galina Mezentseva, Luba Gulyaeva, Mira Popovich, and Gus Giordano. I also trained with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, which has greatly influenced my teaching style and approach.

As a teacher, I prioritize creating a safe and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable exploring their creativity and pushing themselves to improve their skills. I believe in a holistic approach to dance education, which includes not only technique and choreography but also music theory, anatomy, and dance history. I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced, and I take pride in helping each student reach their full potential as a dancer.
